Fasting for Weight Loss 2 Days Per Week
Despite the increased availability of healthy foods, exercise facilities, low-carb and low-fat foods, diet sodas, diet plans, literally thousands of weight loss supplements – and even prescription weight loss medication – today, more and more people are overweight. It’s estimated that by 2020 approximately 2.5 billion adults will be overweight and more than 800 million will be obese. The old dietary rules of eating low fat foods, exercising more, and not skipping meals have not made a dent in this problem. In fact, not only are there more obese people in every country in the world, they also weigh more. In the last decade, the average woman has gained 20 lbs. and the average man more than 30 lbs.
Over the last 10 years, hidden from view, has been the development of a new system to lose weight — intermittent fasting for weight loss. In intermittent fasting does not mean stopping eating entirely; it means reducing the amount you eat. For two days a week, you eat 25% of your normal caloric intake (500 calories a day for women and 650 calories a day for men). On the remaining 5 days, you eat normally. There are many different versions of the intermittent fasting system.
An alternative system is the increasing popular 16:8 intermittent fast where the dieter skips breakfast and lunch, snack and dinner and finished all eating and caloric intake at 8 PM and expect of coffee with creamer does not eat until the next day.
Dr. Lipman’s experience treating hundreds of his patients, as well as scientific trials all over the world, have shown this to be a safe and effective technique for rapid weight loss. In fact, the scientific reports presented in Dr. Lipman’s 2 Day a Week Diet Plan have shown reduced hunger, cholesterol, insulin, and blood sugar.
How Intermittent Fasting for Weight Loss is Done
Diet Days – usually Monday and Thursday: you have breakfast and dinner, or lunch and a late dinner. For each day of the week you fast, you lose 1-1.5 lbs. per day, or 3 lbs. per week.
Non Diet Days: The remaining 5 days you can eat what you want. If you make a little effort to get rid of fast foods and sugary drinks, your weekly weight loss can double!
You might think that on the “eat anything days” you would gain weight. In fact, most people end up eating about 1800 calories — just enough to maintain the weight. Knowing you can eat what you want on non-fasting days makes dieting on the 2 days a week much easier.
Color coded food menus for fasting and non fasting days are included which show portions, calories, preparation and selection of appropriate foods. A whole section offers various recipes appropriate for the diet days.
