800 Calorie HCG Diet Review
The 800 Calorie HCG Diet offers the dieter the fastest, safest and most healthy system to lose weight. The 800 Calorie HCG Diet consists of two parts:
1. 800 Calorie Food Plan: this consists of lean protein, fruits, vegetables and almost no carbs.
2. HCG Hormone: administered by daily sublingual drops or by daily injections.
This means no strain on the body, no hunger or cravings, and perhaps more importantly, your metabolism will not slow down – which means you will lose weight almost constantly while on the diet.
The hormone HCG, or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin,(taked as drops under the tongue or by injection) is the basis of the diet. This hormone is produced naturally in the body. It has many functions and is used medically to treat a variety of conditions. HCG normally works in pregnant women to metabolize fat and use it as energy for both mother and fetus. This acts as a fail-safe mechanism when energy is needed immediately. Women may experience very high levels during pregnancy with no adverse affects. It is also present in males, albeit in much lower quantities.

The 800 Calorie HCG Diet is Effective and Safe
30-day program average weight loss using HCG Drops : Women – 15-25 lbs; Men – 20-35 lbs
60-day program average weight loss using HCG Drops: Women – 30-50 lbs; Men – 40-60 lbs.
To get these type of results, you need to follow the 800 Calorie HCG Diet Plan carefully: Bread, cereal, rice, pasta, potatoes, black and red beans are eliminated. Ultra low carb crackers, wraps are permitted. Watch the portions of protein, especially beef. Avoid cooking oils, nuts, olive oils, dairy products except that listed on the food menu. Unlimited vegetables and 3 fruits a day (with a few limits) are added with many no sugar snacks.
While the average weight loss is 1/2 to 1 pounds per day, it is important to be aware that this does NOT mean that you will lose 1-2 pounds every day. It is very common to lose a few ounces one day, and 2 pounds the next day. Averages are taken into consideration at the END of one’s round of HCG. drops. So, don’t be discouraged if you are not losing 1-2 pounds per day. It will all average out at the end. Weight loss with HCG injections is higher
as much as 20%, but more variable than the sublingual drops. The graph below is for HCG sublingual drops:
- Green: under 59 males with 40 lbs. to lose
- Purple: over 60 males with 40 lbs. to lose; women under 59 with 40 lbs. to lose
- Orange: under 59 males with 20 lbs. to lose; women over 59 with 40 lbs. to lose
- Brown: women with 10 lb to lose

The 800 Calorie HCG Diet is Safe
When you visit my office for your consultation, if we decide the HCG diet is the best for you, I select the right type of HCG preparation based on your individual medical, metabolic, and weight loss needs. The idea of HCG as part of a diet plan is over 50 years old invented by Dr Simeons in 1954. It has been used in many forms by millions of people all over the world with no safety issues reported. Since the HCG diet contains moderate protein and almost no sugar or fat, it’s safe for diabetics and people with hypertension, thyroid problems and controlled heart disease.
The side effects are almost non-existent and not much different than any other low calorie diet (especially when the HCG diet protocols are followed properly). They include episodes of weakness and low blood sugar (often seen when skipping meals), constipation and lack of energy. All of these feelings are due to the marked reduction in sugar and all are transient, generally subsiding after a week or two. Having a high-protein snack and not skipping meals can eliminate almost all of them. Drinking water and adding some fiber can relieve the constipation problem. After treating thousands of people, I have seen almost no side effects from my HCG Protocol. That’s much better than prescription diet medication or even over-the-counter (or internet) diet supplements!
HCG can be used in men and women with equal safety and effectiveness. Men do not gain any female characteristics since HCG is only a pregnancy hormone protecting the baby – it has nothing to do with menstruation, breast or hair development. In fact, men lose weight much faster on HCG than women!
800 Calorie HCG Diet Plan – Great Food Choices
The 800 Calorie HCG Diet food plan is based on food choices that have been tested in thousands of patients in my private practice in Miami, FL. We carefully evaluate every low-calorie product that has little to no sugar and no fat to see if its HCG friendly. In doing so, we have added many products that are very low-calorie, have little to no sugar or carbs, and very little fat to Dr. Simeons’s original, and very limited, 500 Calorie HCG diet from the 1950’s. The tremendous amount of food options make following the food plan and losing weight on my HCG diet a great experience for my patients.
Each new food selection follows the principles of Dr. Simeons’ original protocol–i.e. lean protein, minimal fat and sugar. We have used the the “2+2″ rule for selecting prepared foods that have both sugar and fat. It means that products (assuming calories are appropriate) must have 2 grams of sugar or less and 2 grams of fat or less. When either value is slightly higher, i.e. 2.5 grams of sugar, then use the total which should still be less than 4.
I give you meal plans with thumbnail pictures of food choices that illustrate brand names (when available), preparations and portions. Click on the thumbnails below to see some samples of breakfast, lunch, dinner and drink choices.
New 800 Calorie HCG Diet Book
This modernized HCG plan includes the new food protocol, all required HCG essentials, sample menus, new plateau breaking tips, and modernized, detailed guidelines for all three phases of the HCG plan. Dr. Lipman writes, “almost all my patients noted more energy and less cravings with the larger portions and more choices in the new 800 calorie plan. In addition they lost the same weight without feeling deprived.”
Reviews of the new 800 Calorie HCG Diet
I’ve been vary degrees of overweight my whole life. I’ve done every diet from the Cabbage Soup Diet to Diet Center to Atkins with varying degrees of success. Doing HCG is the first time I’ve ever done a diet that has actually made me FEEL better when I’m on it and has had amazing results.
I tried the original HCG protocol, “Pounds and Inches”, about 9 months ago. I did one cycle and I lost about 20 lbs. I was so excited. Over the summer I did a lot of traveling and a LOT of eating and gained most of it back. Oops. So this fall I decided to give HCG another go, but I wanted to do some more research to see if there was anything out there that had been updated since the 1950s, when the original was developed. I found Dr. Lipman’s “New 800 Calorie HCG Diet”. At first I was a little dubious, because the original protocol is so strict on what you can and can’t eat, and there was a lot more leeway with Dr. Lipman’s updated version, and you also consumed about 1/3 more calories a day than the original.
Let me tell you this updated program is great! The addition of modern low-carb and low-calorie foods that weren’t available when the original diet protocol was written was wonderful. It made the food much less boring and made me feel much less deprived. It’s pretty easy to stick to, especially once you get through the first week, which I admit can be a little rough as the HCG works it’s way into your system and your body detoxes since you aren’t putting all the crap into it you usually are. Headaches and some hunger are common in the first week, but these side effects are common at the beginning of almost any diet.
People might say this diet is based on “pseudo-science” or is too hardcore or there’s no proof that it works. I don’t care what other people say. The proof is in the pudding! Since the beginning of September 2012 (it’s now mid December 2012) I’ve lost 60lbs, stopped the edema in my right foot, and look and feel better than I have in half a decade. I just turned 30 and I feel better than I did for most of my 20s! Whether you have a lot to lose or a little to lose you can adjust this program’s length to get the results you want….”
