HOW TO REMOVE BODY FAT

BMI  Calculator(Body Mass Index) -What Does it Mean

(BMI)  calculator relates your weight to your height and compares  it with other people.  It’s an estimate of body fat and a decent indicator of your risk for weight-related diseases. A higher BMI raises your risk for heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, gallstones, breathing problems, and certain cancers.

BMI Limitations

BMI does have some limitations:

1.The raw number calculated for adults is not accurate for children up to 19 years of age. An age- and gender-specific percentile graph is used to interpret BMI and determine the weight category for children and teens – see the CDC website for a BMI calculator for children and teens.

2.Athletes & those with a muscular build, it may overestimate body fat.    3. Older people and those who have lower muscle mass, it may underestimate body fat.

 Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)

The Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) calculator calculates the calories you burn at rest during a single day. Your BMR is based on the Harris–Benedict equation and depends on age, gender, weight and height. BMR decreases as you age, which is part of the reason it can become more difficult to lose weight as you get older.

Calories Burned By Activity

Physical activity, no matter what type, burns calories. If you walked from the parking lot to your desk, or went to the gym, you burned calories. Because the amount of energy needed to do an activity is directly proportional to the weight that needs to be moved, the more you weigh, the more calories you burn. Though it may seem counter-intuitive, increasing the duration of the activity will burn more calories than performing the activity more vigorously for the same amount of time.

This calculator tells you the approximate number of calories you will burn doing any of the activities listed in the drop-down menu. The number is based on MET’s, and is a close estimate of calories burned; actual calories burned can vary depending the person and how the activity is performed.
