Losing Weight On a Budget Involves Making A Few Better Choices

Losing Weight and Budgeting Can Go Together Dieting on a Budget Involves Just a Little Planing:

Three things never seem to change: people wanting to lose weight, save money or being healthy.  Fortunately, all three of these things can be done at once, without much trauma. It’s about planning ahead.  Some diets require expensive and exotic foods that result in  grocery bills two or three times normal for no real gain. Here are some secrets to lose weight without emptying your wallet.

Avoid Most Convenience Foods:
Prepackaged pasta or chicken dinners, or frozen all-in-one meals from a supermarket can be twice the cost of the raw ingredients which may be right on the next isle of the store.  While they are quick and easy, they are usually full of unhealthy ingredients that increase their shelf life and price.  Buy a whole chicken rather than prepackaged chicken breasts. Whole chicken is delicious when roasted and leftovers may be shredded for soups, tacos or salads.

Eat Leftovers:
Leave some leftover chicken, or anything else you cook, and freeze it for later. Not only will this save you money, but time as well.

Avoid Organic Food:
Organically grown is no different in minerals, vitamins, taste or quality, than normally grown food the only thing you can be sure is the price will be far higher.

Vitamins and Supplements:
No need to spend you last dime on these extras as all of the recent evidence indicates little to any benefit for your health and certainly not for weight loss.

Avoid Fad Diets and Scams:
You don't have to spend a lot of money to lose weight. You should be able to  lose weight on foods that surround you all day, without special recipes or shopping.  Spending all kinds of money for scams like detox diets or special supplements is bad idea. A successful diet is one that can be done indefinitely. Who needs detox or colon cleanses for the rest of the life?

Buying in Bulk  at Costco, B.J’s or Sams Club: Be Careful
You can find great deals at these warehouse clubs, but all evidence points to the fact that the  larger the carton or bag the more one will eat. The more you buy, the less each unit actually costs you. Although this seems a sure way to get a deal, bulk buying often costs people more than they know.

Be Careful with Inexpensive, Poor Portion Control CarbsBe Careful with Inexpensive, Poor Portion Control Carbs
When income is limited one of the first food changes is away from fresh vegetables, fruits, and fish because calorie per calories they are costly,  Carbs like rice, beans and pastas are much less expensive but much more fattening.
